Lab Members

I completed my bachelor and master degree in Biomedical Sciences and Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience (specialization in Fundamental Neuroscience), respectively, at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. For my PhD work, I joined Prof Eero Castrén’s laboratory at the Neuroscience Center in Helsinki focusing on the mechanisms underlying optical activatable TrkB (optoTrkB) in PV interneurons on adult visual cortex plasticity. In 2020, I started a joint postdoc position in the labs of Prof Oscar Marin and Prof Beatriz Rico to continue my passion in interneuron research and investigate their dysregulation in schizophrenia.

Outside the lab, I like to challenge myself in weightlifting and conditioning. Besides that, I have always been interested to understand the impact of exercise and nutrition on the overall but particularly mental health, and finding strategies to improve the overall well-being and performance of individuals.
