Alfredo Llorca
PhD student

I obtained my degree in Biology (2008) at Universidad de Valencia (Spain). From my second year of University, I joined Garcia-Verdugo's lab as an assistant student, commencing my career in neuroscience research. After completing my degree, I joined the Marín lab in 2013 while studying a master degree in Neuroscience at the Instituto de Neurociencias in Alicante (Spain). I subsequently moved to London to complete a PhD in Neuroscience in the lab. I am primarily interested in the origins and functional roles of the diverse types of neurons that populate the adult brain. My work in the lab focusses on the developmental mechanisms underlying the genesis of neuronal diversity in the mammalian cerebral cortex, including both interneurons and projection neurons.
